The 2025 R1 Race and R1 GYTR are a turn-key track weapon taken from the bike that has won World Superbike and MotoAmerica titles. Its signature is the crossplane CP4 engine. Uneven firing intervals give it the MotoGP M1's growl and very predictable grip coming out of corners. For 2025 Yamaha added MotoGP-style carbon winglets to keep the front down, Brembo Stylema brakes, and a new KYB fork.
The R1 Race suits track-day riders who want a ready-made circuit bike. The R1 GYTR is aimed at racers, since it's essentially a Superstock 1000 race bike from the factory.
